In places where liability may be
a concern, or where maintenance, limited space, the elderly, or
small children may be involved, you may prefer a feature that allows
water to circulate without a pond. These types of features have
gravel at the base instead of a pond.
There is nothing more relaxing
than coming home and hearing the sounds of falling water in your own
yard. But if you do not need the entire eco-system provided by a
pond, a system without a pond may be perfect for you.
Perfect for public settings and
small children, water fall designs and bubble pots can be placed
over a gravel base. Water filters down through the gravel and then
gets pumped back up to the top.
These systems require little maintenance, less electricity, and can
even be turned off by timers or while you are away from home. They
are also ideal for situations where limited space is available.
